At last the Zappa Family Trust have seen fit to release Sleep Dirt as it originally sounded when released on vinyl in This re-release comes without the dreaded vocals that were present on previous CD versions and which disappointed and even angered many Zappa fans, myself included/5(92).

One of my fave Zappa album and easily the best of the later s album, staying away from Frank scatological obsessions of these years, Sleep Dirt (by all means not an innocent title) is an almost instrumental album and is (as you'd expect with the Hot Rats) heavily jazz-rock slanted and one of his proggiest in the more purist backwesdilafahrno.tibednietekingsatosilchambtochloci.infoinfo: Zen Archer.

Sleep Dirt consists of miscellaneous tracks recorded between and , including "Flambay," "Spider of Destiny," and "Time Is Money," songs that wre apparently part of an unissued Zappa musical/rock opera from called Hunchentoot. They are sung by soprano Thana Harris.7/

"Regyptian Strut": Läther has the same mix as the Sleep Dirt vinyl; some Sleep Dirt CDs have a different mix. Sheepishly, the Sleep Dirt CD version appears as a "bonus track" on Läther (Spence Chrislu at the UMRK/ backwesdilafahrno.tibednietekingsatosilchambtochloci.infoinfo put it there by mistake, not realising it was already on the Sleep Dirt CD).
